The Caulfield track against raced very fairly and there are a few that are destined for better things.

Race 1 Bert Bryant Hcp 1200m

I was keen on PLUS FOURS here and he went plain awful, not sure how he mustered to even run a place to be honest. All honours to the winner LIBERTY STEPS however I'm concerned about this race as a reference going forward.

Race 2 Noel Rundle (Bm78) 1100m

Nothing new here but CLEMENCEAU was huge here and continued his upward spiral. LITTLE STEVIE again ran on well, super steer by Richards to cut through them and get her into second place. YOUNG LIAM was very god out to this trip, off this it's not beyond him in something only slightly weaker.

Race 5 Geoff Murphy Hcp 1100m

NAJMATY stormed home here showing a superb turn of foot. HEAD FIRST was looking the only challenger but was chopped out, she can be followed. I thought LEMPICKA, DAZZLING LUCY and MY YANKEE GIRL all ran very well and can figure soon.

Race 7 Tobin Brothers Easter Cup 2000m

SACRAMENTO was slow out and that took plenty of tempo out of the race. HOLBIEN was given a peach in front and stiff to get nailed by MILFORD who is finally starting to put it together. ESTI FENNY was excellent given the tempo of this race and that he was cut out when making ground, he's the one I'd have some interest in following.

Race 8 Neds Victoria Hcp 1400m

AYRTON was excellent here to prove fitness was no issue though it must be said he had a very nice run. Some eye catching runs behind him, led by DR DRILL and EXCELIDA. EXCELIDA races best when on the fresh side but her pattern means she needs some breaks. DR DRILL is going to be better suited out in trip and it was a great return from him.

Race 9 Robert Taranto Hcp 1600m

Another race where early tempo was slower than expected and therefore played to those near the front. FLASH FEELING was held up and stiff not to get the win here, he continues to improve. GLINT OF HOPE ran well given the tempo, though I don't think was as dynamic as she had been in both runs prior and she may be looking for further now. There was nothing all that glamorous about DOUCEUR but she will drop to level weights when she heads over the border and that will count for plenty. BUNDLE OF FUN also ran on very well in this.
