Rail was out and the track played slightly to the front in my opinion but where tempo allowed it was still possible to come from the back.
Race 1 Thomas North Hcp 1200m
LINCOLN SQUARE led them and put up a good kick to get a Saturday win on debut which is no mean feat. LIBERTY STEPS worked home solidly. MAXIMILLIUS was clearly disappointing after racing keenly and jury is very much out on him. Overall figures for this were only fair and I doubt this proves a strong form reference.
Race 2 Selangor Turf Club (Bm78) 1600m
Superb win here by DENY KNOWLEDGE given they went hard early, she was headed and then fought back. The run on horses were all put out of their comfort zone. STARRING ROLE was also brave in defeat. I think the winner can be followed especially if she can get out over further.

Race 5 Ian Miller (Bm100) 1100m
Nice return win by RANTING but the story of the race was IT'SOURTIME who played up pre-race, was vetted, bounded at the start and missed the kick, he settled much further back than anticipated and was goneski. I think this performance was very much our of character and he should be forgiven. ZORRO'S DREAM ran on really well yet again, talented horse with a pattern that always needs luck.

Race 6 Darren Gauci Hcp 1200m
Great win by SOOBOOMA who ran a career best to get the result here, but the story of this race was CLEMENCEAU who clearly raced below his best. No obvious excuse in the aftermath. Nice return from LUNA CAT, she can race back against the girls next time and be very hard to beat.

Race 7 Take It To Neds Level (Bm100) 1600m
This wasn't run as quickly as expected, MANKAYAN got himself in a plum spot and the gap appeared he dug in to get the result to get the better of a very honest IMPERIAL LAD. Run of the race was SKYMAN, forced to make a wide run off a slow tempo his effort was super but circumstances didn't fall his way. BELTORO was also very good.

ELZAMEE trained by the masters defied a standard profile for a race like this and has started to pull back some of his hefty price tag. YAPHET was set an enormous task and ran extremely well, he's a nice staying prospect and I think will be competitive in Adelaide should he start there.
